I’ll echo the sentiments of others in that darkly compact is a very welcome theme option. I think I’m mostly just happy to see a theme that isn’t some mobile first trash.

A lot of the users on here just lurk and don’t participate in discussions. That’s how you get a community with 10 or 20 subscribers and only a couple of active members that actually contribute.

To provide a bit more context lower grade iron rivets were used because of supply shortages at the time. Higher quality steel rivets were still used for the midsection of the boat with iron rivets being used on the ends.

Nice to see SimCity 3000 on there. I know 4 is more feature complete. Especially with all the mods available for it. But there’s a certain atmosphere to 3000 that I just enjoy more.

The new realities, as well as public consultation will shape how development works going forward. It’s easier than you’d think to get involved in that process and can largely be accomplished purely through online feedback. Personally I was involved in helping conduct an inventory of historical buildings in my local area also in response to the More Homes Built Faster act. It didn’t get a lot of traction in the news but the act also gutted the Ontario Heritage Act leaving local governments scrambling to document and designate notable historical structures before they’re stripped of protection and left to the mercy of developers.

As for cursive itself the only positives I’ve seen mentioned in research and in anecdotal conversations is that physically writing information down helps with memory retention as opposed to typing it out on a keyboard. The big draw for him might be Minetests moddability. All of a games content is in .lua files and it can be modified with just a basic text editor. An easy thing to do would be to change the mining time of a pickaxe or change the number of planks you get from a wood block. If he really gets into it, it’s possible to create a game from the ground up without relying on the base Minetest Game.

Best bet would be to set him up with the Minecraft clone game. This can be done by going to the Content tab in the menu. Select Browse Online Content. On the second page is Mineclone2.

Seriously it took them like 20 years to reimplement table based layouts in the form of grid. In between we were stuck playing the devils Tetris stacking boxes on top of each other and trying to float all that garbage to produce janky, buggy layouts that would crumble apart when resized.

They’ve made a lot of great changes and additions over time. The new lighting being a very welcome addition. I’ve been checking in on progress once in awhile but haven’t played in ages.

Just because they’re currently out of the 24hr news cycle doesn’t mean they’ve disappeared or don’t have an influence on current events. Actually I think half of them still regularly are the subject of articles. We still regularly see news stories regarding Taliban mismanagement of Afghanistan. Saudi financing of extremists and old prince bonesaw’s antics have definitely had an impact on relations with other nations and is likely the reason for their reconciliation with Iran recently. I think I just read an article last week about deforestation in Brazil. Same with stories about microplastics and ongoing research into that.
