Uninflammable
Yes the fossil fuel industry loved to point this one out. “Hahaha! We’re so dirty even your clean tech can’t be clean!”
Growing up I always learned (I think) the “insert missing text” symbol was shaped like the one in the pic, like a caret symbol.
The odd thing is I also remember the caret and inserted word being at the top like in OP’s image, but style guides I can find now show the caret at the bottom and the inserted text at the top.
https://books.byui.edu/fhgen_110_textbook_/chapter_16_deciphering_elements_of_handwritten_records#%3A~%3Atext=are+shown+here%3A-%2CInserted+Words%2Cadded+on+the+line+ above (search for caret)

Wikipedia seems to indicate using a downward facing caret, or a caret with an extra upward arm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caret_(proofreading)
TIL!
All that to say the formatting of OP’s pic, no matter the direction of the arrow/caret, makes it hard to read. A little “don’t dead open inside” or something.
Edit to add: This one shows it the way I remember it https://dmlfnsgrade9isawesome.weebly.com/editing1.html
30 minutes? You need to know when to give up buddy. It’s especially fucking rude on an airplane where there are lots of people and limited bathrooms. And security concerns…
That said, when you open the door and you see the dude is actually sitting on the can with his pants down - and not up to something nefarious - maybe you don’t drag him out?
Then we have the cops, need I say more?
Jeez, assholes all around.
Much more detailed article here: https://aviationa2z.com/index.php/2025/03/22/united-pilot-abuse-jewish-passenger-using-lavatory/
The USA can join the Commonwealth by becoming a Territory of Canada. Just give us a sec while we change the rules on representation in the house of Commons.
I wonder what Data Carvey would have to say.
That’s an army sized number of people who will be sent home to go through hell.
PS - any responses telling me to just watch peertube instead will be downvoted and user will be blocked.
I think this is a little uncalled for…
I was travelling last week and ran into something like this on an older tv with a weird youtube integration - some custom app, not an official YouTube app… Videos that are “dubbed” into other languages will play one of the dubbed audio tracks (German in this case) instead of the original, no matter what language or region the TV and app is set to (I tried many). The worst part was that there was no way to change the audio track at all in that app, essentially rendering it useless.
No one is saying all games should suddenly turn VR, no one wants that and no one expects that to happen.
there should be games for people who like VR because some people do like to be active.
So no, “it should be a second-class citizen” is a nonsense take.
Sounds like you have a different definition of second-class citizen.
All their baked goods are great and I enjoy their coffee. Just high quality all around.
‘Winston Smith works in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth, where his job is to rewrite historical documents so they match the constantly changing current party line. This involves revising newspaper articles and doctoring photographs—mostly to remove “unpersons”, people who have fallen afoul of the party.’
Some interesting stuff in there. Nice to see Small Victory coming back, though I only ever go there as a treat. Din Tai Fung is definitely an experience. I went to the one in Taipei 101 and had xiao long bao and it was excellent.
How about a wholly-Canadian co-op? Maybe sell camping and hiking equipment.
Whatever it becomes, the answer is not: a sad department store with goods that are too expensive for the average shopper, organized in the least efficient manner for shopping, and with a perfume gauntlet you have to run to get to said inefficient shopping. Oh and don’t make it impossible to find staff to help you when you do want to pay…
Canadians have been pushing for this for a long while
How many? I’ve never heard it in a big way like we are now.
Because we don’t know the implications? Joining the EU would come with a bunch of commitments that most people who are saying yes right now don’t even realize.
This is a knee-jerk reaction. It’s not a small decision that we should make while on the rebound.
Lets start by making some really epic trade deals and go from there.
I was going to say this is good for Canada, but part of the draw to bring engineers here is the path to the H1B. If there is no H1B end-game, maybe they won’t bring them to Canada either.
That said, we have some sizeable offices already established here, so maybe there is still incentive.
