Do you have a plan for recruiting new users? Lemmy already struggles there and it’s one of the bigger platforms. If we move even further from the mainstream, I’m afraid we’d slowly wither away as people leave and aren’t replaced.

I was able to ditch Windows completely thanks to them, haven’t had to dual boot for years. I remember back when I first tried linux there were only a handful of games that would run without hours of tinkering. Now compatibility is an afterthought; I just assume Steam games will work and I haven’t had any issues yet.
I play usually with my spouse, and occasionally my brothers. With the former, we usually get pretty into ARPGs (PoE, Titan Quest, Van Helsing, older Diablo) or Don’t Starve Together. With my siblings it’s usually random stuff they suggest that’s not too complicated so we can catch up while we play.
I used to do Overwatch, but the time commitment to stay good is just too much, and the games end up sucking more often than not. Haven’t touched OW2. TF2 is still fun, and I’ve been doing a bit of Sea of Thieves solo but occasionally interacting with other crews. Basically anything that involves playing with strangers is usually not worth the effort for me.
I remember back when Treyarch was considered the B team that got the side projects, but even then World at War was the only game in the series I ever really liked.
Look into The Mountain Goats; all their early stuff was recorded on a boombox cassette deck.
I subscribed during a promotion for $2 and the only thing on the entire service I watched was Yellowjackets (and that’s a Showtime series, so don’t know why it was on there).
I don’t understand why so many companies want their own streaming service when they don’t have the content to carry one.
Newman-o’s is the superior cream filled sandwich cookie.
Metro 2033 Redux: I’m not usually big on first person shooters, but love horror games so I gave it a try. The atmosphere and mechanics combine to make it a really immersive and tense experience. I loved that they put a stealth option in a FPS. There’s limited gas mask filters which pushes you to move faster, while at the same time the traps and lack of ammo make you want to slow down; which keeps up the tension even if there’s nothing elsr happening at the moment. There’s a good variety in the types of levels, so you’re not just blasting your way through everything all the time.
Their approach to moral choices was also very well implemented; instead of giving you clunky and obvious dialogue options, they just watch how you play the game to determine which ending you get.
Now I want to have a Jackie Daytona style NPC that is obviously hiding something, but completely irrelevant to the plot.
Not at all an expert, but I’m doing fine with most games on Manjaro. Most things worked out of the box with Proton on Steam. I also liked Arch before I got old and lazy, and Manjaro seems to be a good way to get most of the benefits of Arch with lazier upkeep.
I’ve never had a fancy car, so it’s the jank stuff I remember fondly on my old vehicles. Having to start the truck by jumping the solenoid with a pair of pliers, that time Reverse just didn’t work for a month so I had to really think through my parking situations, when it insisted on starting in Drive no matter what so I had to keep a brick in front of the tire and then pull it out and jump in real fast.
Anybody can get in a functional vehicle and drive; I like having to learn and overcome the weird stuff. It’s like taming a horse, it’s a bonding experience.
Now that I’m an adult though, I am quite fond of heated seats.
I did, but I cancelled before the next year so who knows what’s going on. For a while I wondered if maybe there’s few enough people canceling that it was cheaper just to let them keep the service rather than hire someone to code the thing to remove them.
Not build a door or windows.
I cancelled months ago, but they never cut me off from the streaming or prime shipping. I’ve checked multiple times to make sure I’m not being charged, and so far so good.
Have you not seen the documentary Little Shop of Horrors?
I don’t get what all the fuss is about. I told them I don’t like Nazis and was approved within minutes. It was not a complicated process.
Thanks! I thought I was so clever when I thought of it :)
Yeah, I noticed them on Lemmy and thought they might be a good way to remember people I interact with. There were too many people on Reddit, so I hardly ever bothered looking at user names. The avatars stand out better and remind me of forums.
Entourage is by far the trashiest show I like. I feel like almost everything about is objectively terrible, but I love it.
I had a good time playing the EA, I’ll have to check out what they added for 1.0. It fills the niche of hack and slash that’s better than Diablo 3+, but doesn’t require an insane amount of work like PoE.
Edit: Full offline mode is awesome to have.
