I got a quote from a local big roofing place for my garage 12 years ago and they made me watch a video of the owner crying about his dead dad then threw out a $4500 quote. I just didn’t do the roof. Fast forward to 2023 and I get an actual roofer to do the roof and replace wood because I waited too long. The price of building materials was sky high, it was $2500. Probably the same guys they subcontract.

I have 6-8 people over once a week. I have a dog. Having more than a foot of kitchen space is not s big kitchen. You’re never going to convince me a tiny apartment is worth a shit.

I looked it up, fuck no that’s horrible. Actual Hell on earth.

Me personally I need a kitchen with more than a foot of counter space. Washer, dryer, garage workshop, basement gaming room. Not struggling to have three guests in my home and not going to a fucking laundromat is key, oh and a small yard at least.

It’s a 20 foot box. My entire living space in 20x20. Shitting and eating and sleeping all in the same room. My Detroit apartment was slightly bigger than that. No, it’s terrible. I won’t have kids, that’s my ecological contribution. I’m not living in a city again.

Yes 50 is bigger, and yet I still prefer a house. 20 feet by 20 feet. Woo hoo.

I don’t have to imagine, I’ve lived in both, it is a reduced standard of living and saying it isn’t is a lie. I’ve seen pictures of how you people want us to live, Hong Kong and Tokyo exist. I’d rather die of exposure in the woods than be forced into a coffin sized little apartment room that the poors get there.

This is exactly it. Where the fuck can I do my hobbies in an apartment that are loud. Can I run a torch? Fuck that.

And your dog can run out the dog door into your small yard anytime or do you have to walk them every day. How is your garage? Is there a workshop in it? Can you have friends over into your basement DnD room setup to play games? Apartments suck I don’t care how many people stuck in cities tell me they don’t. Like being born in the zoo they don’t understand it’s awful. Also good security, yeah sounds like a great place to live. I don’t need security in my neighborhood and it’s a working class not a rich one too. Why do you need security? Is it because cities suck and the density makes you more likely to be a crime victim?

I hated my proximity to so many people and their noises. I hated the apartment, I hated living in the city, it felt inhuman and I felt absolutely trapped. The landlord was fine. Not to mention bugs and rats. Tell me that apartment building doesn’t have roaches.

I’ve lived in an apartment and I just can’t do it. I hated every day in it.

Oh you think I forgot what it was like in my teens. I just don’t go to shows anymore.

Oh you think I don’t hate them too? I won’t even associate with them as people anymore. I still hate our ineffective stacked against workers broken ass government as a whole.

Six weeks off and three weeks to do one fucking thing. I hate the government.
