As the title, suggest, jerboa feels really out of place coming from RiF, any recommendations to get a similar experience?

I also went to Jeroba from RiF. Give it a bit of time; they actually just put out an update! This site doesn’t have the benefit of the years and man-hours that RiF and reddit have had yet. It’ll take some time

Honestly the biggest thing I don’t like about Jeroba is the app icon only because it doesn’t have a background. That’s really nit-picking though. It’s great so far!

There are only two Lemmy clients and one isn’t even developed for anymore (Lemmur I think??). Jerboa is honestly all we have for Lemmy. There are no alternatives at the moment other than using the website. Kbin doesn’t have any apps at all.

The Jerboa team was quick to put out a new update tho. They seem to be keen on trying to quickly improve it!

The update to Jerboa today made it a LOT better. But if there was ever a Lemmy is Fun I would download it in a second. Purely because it’s what I am familiar with and it’s smooth.

Coming from RIF, I have been using Jerboa and it’s starting to grow on me. There’s definitely a lot of work to do, but it’s exciting to see the app get better over time as the devs work hard on it.

I took a few days to get my bearings in the app, but I am now at the point where I compulsively open Jerboa instead of RIF.

It’s hard to not want Jerboa to be “just like RIF” and instead let it be its own thing. But then you realize that Lemmy isn’t limited to just being a “Reddit replacement” and has potential to be something even better. It feels like being a frontier settler.
