On the sign its written that a disposal bin for old glass that previously stood there got removed permanently by the city and that people shouldnt leave their bottles there and instead go to another one in the area. Judging by the amount of bottles piled up the sign didnt work.
Can’t forget that glass containers in Germany have opening hours, so that nearby residents aren’t annoyed by the sound of glass smashing together 24/7.
As such there is a possibility that the containers have been removed due to residents complaining. High chance that the complainees were also the same people who put up the sign
