Everywhere in the US looks the same from Wendover

    Stroads from Not Just Bikes

Don’t mistakenly think this is a unique piece of midwest culture. Pretty much every highway exit looks the same in the US. The billboards are interchangeable. You practically can’t tell them apart. Sub out one regional chain for a different regional chain that is SO different (but actually exactly the same). Our culture of extraordinarily bad land use meshing with our financial system that favors national chains that export wealth over local businesses that builds communities is just gradually turning all of our places into ugly, expensive, worthless trash.
