DISCLAIMER: if you don’t already IV, I strongly recommended that you don’t start, injecting corrosive and potencially contaminated liquids directly into your bloodstream, especially without medical training is very dangerous and can easily take your life, It also happens that most drugs when administered via IV have a very short duration(25-45 minutes) and alot more addictive properties, all for a bit extra euphoria and adrenaline which I would personally say is not worth it, if the bioavailibilty is your problem, please consider how much more a prolonged hospital stay will cost you compared to a couple of extra gram, if you are able to read this post you likely don’t need the 100% bio avaibility.
This guide is meant to minimize damage, not cause it, also if pictures of the process are desired for a better overview tell me and I will make them.
Hyia!,
I just wanted to give some advice for using butterfly infusion sets to minimize repeated IV administration(for example for euphoric stimulants) impact and discomfort since I have not seen any information out there regarding this besides having heard one mention of it before and it really helps me keep my Arms a clean and generally makes registering easier and more comfortable in my opinion.
Butterfly infusion sets(see picture):
These tend to be used when drawing up blood but they can also be used to administer fluids, the free moving butterfly needle allows you to easily reach most places without having to make awkward manauvers with your syringe barrel, the tube allows you to easily see if you are drawing up any blood without tainting your solution and move around freely, so that you can keep the syringe in a comfortable position, it does come with the downside of having ~0.5 ml deadspace, but since they allow you to switch out your syringe while the needle is in your vein, you can just flush the deadspace with a saline syringe.
My setup for these is typically two 5ml luer-lock syringes, one with the drug solution and one with WFI(water for injection), I attach the set to the drug syringe and I push the solution fully to the tip of the needle, register and shoot normally(ignoring the amount which stays in the deadspace), once I had my shoot, I will twist off the drug syringe and use my second syringe to flush the remaining solution from the deadspace, I can than carefully leave the needle inside the vein and switch to the drug syringe again when I want to redose.
WARNING: If stale blood stays too long(more than 15s) in the line it will harden and clog your set making it useless, It is also worth noting that this is by no means a replacement for IV cannulation, while you are doing this you have a needle in your vein which is very much able to do damage, do not move around unless you need too.
Hope this helps somebody not stick themselfes 6 times for a single trip!
If you have any questions about this method or suggestions how to improve it simply write them in the comments or DM me!
Lots of love!, Xea
Additionally, aside from what it can and will do to you physically, it will turn you into something that you won’t even recognize. I’ve watched many, many high functioning addicts who wrestled with sobriety while sorta balancing life without turning to violence, stealing from friends and family, eating regularly enough and, well, the day they decided a needle was better, I watched.
Their loved ones were reduced to sources for money, or items to take and sell.
Their minor frustrations became fist fights, which became ambushes, and sometimes even gunfights.
Any desire to be kind, or even to act nice, left them entirely.
