There’s an FOV setting in graphics options. … But (as another person with motion sickness) I’d love it if I could increase it FURTHER, or push the camera a little bit further back.

You could always try playing windowed, with a small window. The whole point is to keep the window far from your face. If your playing on the deck, try to keep the screen as far from your face as possible.

Take breaks, not just because you should, but also to just eat. When I’m hungry/weaker, I’m more susceptible.

Or try taking a bonine pill in the morning before you play. The only side effect I get from them is they make me a little sleepy.

Yeah, I’m past all of this. I’ve been dealing with it since PS2, and it’s getting worse every generation. I can’t even play it long enough to need a break before I curl up. I’m extremely sensitive. :( It happens with other games, movies and microscopes too. Have to constantly eat ginger candies in the lab. Windowed won’t help. Already playing it on a handheld, this is partially why I got a Deck and I keep it quite far. 😅 I tried it on PC and could barely play for a couple of mins before getting the spins. The FOV slider just isn’t enough here, as the puking happened with it maxed out. I have to fuck with the settings on nearly every game I play for this stuff. No motion blur, lower sensitivity etc etc. I keep to crpgs for a reason these days.

Man, that sounds terrible. I’m sorry you have to deal with that.

Haha thanks, it’s ok, I just can’t play a lot of games. Fortunately for work, everything is going digital.

In the few motion sensitive friends of mine, all of them usually prefer to decrease the FOV, not increase it. Do you generally prefer high FOV? Doesn’t that make the edges of the screen seem like they’re moving even faster?

I need to widen it as much as possible, which is why I defaulted to increase, because you increase your Field of Vision. Putting me close to the character makes the game instantly unplayable as it moves too fast and tunnels. I cannot play any first person game for this reason. First person games in buildings or corridors are especially bad. Most resources online will tell you to increase as well.

There is an FOV mod on Nexus if the settings aren’t enough.

I haven’t tried the mod, ymmv

I found a FOV slider in my game settings. Does your copy not have it? Or are you already at the max?
