A 57-year-old former ActiBlizz exec alleged that he left the company because of ageism.
This is the sole person who is leading this charge - A exec who got pushed out.
It could be a lot of things. Maybe they were difficult to work with. Maybe their ideas were lacking. Maybe they were a shitty person. We don’t know. What we do know is a 57-yo exec got fired. And you can absolutely search online for Activision Blizzard Exec salaries.
Yeah. Boomers are so used to having the world bend to their will that they can’t fathom that they might just fucking suck.
Generalizations are awesome.
As a species that has built it’s entire intelligence around data gathering and categorizing I’d say generalizations have merit. Boomers are in control and have been and the world is awful… Hmm I guess the kids are to blame.

Goes both ways tho, thats for sure

Just go to “every media outlet ever” and “facebook”
The bulk of boomers are, in fact, awful people. It’s not their age that makes them shitty so ageism doesn’t really apply, it’s just a weak shield against the truth that they’re mostly lead poisoned narcissists.

And why do you think boomers aren’t liked? Bad marketing?
Quiet child, adults are speaking.
I’m 42. If you’re older than me you’re likely a senile, redundant old fart.
Sure you are kid. When you grow up to be an adult you’ll realize the world is more complicated than your simplistic view.
Jesus Christ. How do you stand the smell of your own bullshit?

A non answer from a boomer. Shocking.
Don’t forget men and white people 🙃

Love how ageism only protects people over the age of 40
As a 60yo who would love nothing more than to publish a game, this was a fascinating read.
This is not a story about a small studio in the game industry who kicked out an old person. This is a story about a exec making nearly a million a year upset that he was fired.
As if Microsoft didn’t also let thousands of other people, of different ages, cultures, geographical locations, go as well.
But apparently, this guy gets the microphone.
This story is only tangentially about the guy who got sacked. I’m more interested in what the older industry insiders had to say
