minus-squarejordanlund@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up25·1 year agoMovie got a lot of unwarranted hate, it was fine. It wasn’t FANTASTIC or anything, but it was fine.
minus-squareOmega@lemmy.worldBannedlinkfedilinkarrow-up8·1 year agoIt straddled that line between fine and good. IMO
minus-squarejordanlund@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up7·1 year agoMy only beef was I’ve seen physics done better in video games. Some of it was laughably bad. :(
minus-squarebrian@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up8·1 year agoSomething in particular you can point out? I feel a bunch of physics gripes are hand-waved away 'cause superheoes
minus-squarejordanlund@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·1 year agoCaptain Marvel vs. the Space Ships here: https://youtu.be/G6JeKBYPIs8#t=1m53s There were others. Once clips become more widely available you’ll see what I mean.
minus-squareOmega@lemmy.worldBannedlinkfedilinkarrow-up9·1 year agoI’m gonna be honest. I don’t see anything particularly bad, let alone laughably bad. It just looks like normal CGI space ship battles.
minus-squarejordanlund@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·1 year agoIt’s when she stops the ship dead in mid air and flings it away. Physics does not work like that. /Morbo :)
minus-squarewildcardology@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·1 year agoHow does the physics supposed to work In that scene? A flying super human with super human strength stopping a smallish ship mid air and flinging it?
minus-squareIMongoose@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up9·edit-21 year agoYa, captain marvel flies into and then out of a star at the end of the movie. Her stopping something dead in its tracks is peanuts compared to that. Edit, I actually watched the clip this time, she gets knocked back a little bit catching the ship. There is nothing silly here at all.
minus-squarejordanlund@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoStopping suddenly like that would have destroyed the ship, it would have crumpled around her.
minus-squareMimicJar@lemmy.worldMlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·1 year agoPacing was my biggest issue. Either make the film longer to give scene/characters time to breathe or cut even more subplots from the movie. I do agree it was ultimately fine, but there was a better movie in there.
