Promised an update so here it is! 2 weeks ago I asked around for some authentic cat toys, and got loads of great suggestions for what to get the cat, appreciate all of them! ☺️ Our newly adopted Nori arrived just a few days ago and we couldn’t be happier! She’s full of life and it only took here a few minutes the get comfortable in her new home. Amongst the favourite toys are:

  • A Paper Bag, as seen in first picture. This was from last weeks Vietnamese Takeaway, wasn’t even planing on keeping it but she gets the zooomies everyone she starts playing with or around that bag. So that’s a keeper.
  • Wine corks! Got a few of those ones saved up for different use cases. Also tied on to the Cat tower we got here, which has seen a lot of use already.
  • Cardboard roll (remain of a toilet roll) is another great winner.
  • The casual small balls with bells inside of them.
  • The carpet. Our carpet is light enough for her to lift and she loves this. When she gets the zooomies she spins underneath the carpet one end and comes out the other end, love seeing this!

With all the playing comes a lot of sleeping too, and she will literally fall asleep in our arms when carrying her, which is very adorable. Although she prefer to sleep in the tippy top of the cat tower.

Thanks for all the tips and discussion in this community, learnt loads from others and can’t wait to contribute with silly and cute cats pictures now too 😁

    Nori is gorgeous!

Also, I’m hoping the wine corks came from before all the expensive toys :)

Yes they did 😊 Collect them for various different DIY things, they always come to handy every now and then. Luckily didn’t use loads of money on toys. Have either made them myself, bought second hand and refurbished - like the Cat Tower. Cat Tower i got for 30 euros, however I did have to switch out 40% of the rope, as the previous cat had used it all up. But was surprisingly easy to switch.

All in all happy I didn’t use loads of money on toys, as they can be rather expensive 😅

Yup. My time-share cat (aka the neighbor’s cat that I sometimes watch,) Loves your generic yarn poms. doesn’t really matter for size or whatever else, he loves batting them around (or the birdie-stick-toys with humans,). we made some large poms (aobut the size of a sumo orange? little bit smaller than a grape fruit,) and put on two smaller poms for eyes. It…gets murdered daily.

he also loves to ignore the expensive sacrificial offerings. It’s just a different way to enjoy toys, that’s all. that. and stealing my carrots for some strange inexplicable reason (which is how we ‘met’… he got stuck in my greenhouse when I fixed the latch so it actually locks.)
