I haven’t played since S1 (had three chars at lvl 100). I skipped the whole Season 2 and did absolutely nothing. I didn’t even kill Duriel yet and don’t even know how to spawn him.
Is there anything I should do NOW with a new Character in S2 that carries over to S3 like Statues, Quests etc. for renown or will I start like everyone else with no advantages?
So I already did Statues, Quests in S1. Did they add more Questlines and Statues in S2 that have to be done before S3 or no?

Not really. That’s the reason for the new season is that everyone starts with a clean slate. A new character at this time won’t help anything if you’ve already done statues, unlocked the main city waypoints, and renown to the third tier in each area.
Now season 2 was my first time getting to 100 and attempt to clear the season challenges. And my advice there since I won’t complete it: do NOT skimp on leveling up your glyphs. I did everything else but I lost my momentum at the end because it became daunting.
