There are. I moved from a third world country to a rich country without problems. I have now a safe job and I contribute back to society. No need to risk my life in a boat.
It’s not the rich countries fault that for many people its not safe in their countries. The rich countries are accepting a lot of people, and there are routes for same immigration. These countries cannot take everyone and anyone, or else they would collapse. Its not hard to understand.

Care to point out which current unsafe country doesn’t have it’s recent history involving Europeans fucking them over?
Also rich countries take a pittance in compared to countries neighbouring conflicts, where’s your concern about sharing the load there? Rich countries can do far, far, far more than they are without collapsing.
Your first comment made me think I would not agree with you but you have won me over.
I come from South Africa and watching the Dutch and the amount of resources that goes to just cleaning up from a single town party it’s clear that so much more can be done.
Third world countries aren’t under developed they are overly exploited.
I wouldn’t say I did it with no problems but you can certainly do it, as long as you have everything align for you and you have what ever the people in power want 🙂
I lucked out but many of my friends have no such opertunity.
These people in power are NOW the people in charge of making the country where you live better. Its not they vs us.
I sometimes donate to my home country and/or promote touristic places fromy my country. What do you do to help people from your home country, other than expecting others to open easier immigration routes?
And those people where also the same people that exploited where I come from.
It’s honestly pretty ironic that the home of the Dutch is where I ran away too.
On my end I do what ever I can, mostly education, I’m currently working on mentoring contacts back home in technical skills to hopefully give them a leg up _

Fucking lucky you mate, want a gold star?
For many people it’s not safe enough to stay where they are why they wait the 10-20 years it takes for the “official” route to let them in.
You want a consolation prize?

Oh one country worth mentioning is the Philippines, they got fucked over by the Americans instead XD
Thailand? The only country that was never ruled by the west or in the west. Still very poor but you did ask and I answered.
