TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Retired wrestler Hulk Hogan and a friend rescued a teenage girl who was trapped in an overturned vehicle after a crash in Florida, according to Hogan’s social media posts.

By saying it, he’s telling people who like him that it’s okay. Especially kids, who want to be like their heroes. With great power comes great responsibility.

What kid is even looking up the Hulk Hogan these days though, dudes like 70 and hasn’t been relevant in the 21st century. Him being racist shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Any kid who likes wrestling knows who Hulk Hogan is. And people who still like him use his excuses to do or say bad things.

Well we should probably keep those kids from listening to his racist rants or watching his sex tape or watching his horrible reality tv show then. Wouldn’t want “the children” to learn he’s a piece of shit or something I guess?

          Pick better heros kids.

Well yeah they should pick better people to model themselves off of. But we both know most people aren’t that smart. Also, we shouldn’t give racists and pussy-grabbers any headlines.

Wrestling fans on the regular play the “Well. Chris Benoit was an amazing wrestler and we should respect his work, even if we don’t respect the man” card that almost invariably turns into gushing stories about how much people used to love a violent bully who murdered his wife and child.

Most people never actually saw hogan wrestle (he had long since stopped giving a shit by the time his “prime” started) but that won’t stop people from wanting to talk about what an amazing guy he was because they watched a WWE dvd about it.

Still doesn’t change my reaction to it. But keep lecturing like you’re educating someone if it makes you feel better.

Your “angry for no reason because I cannot manage my emotions” reaction? 😘

I’m not angry at all, feel free to say whatever or blow kisses. More likely you’re upset that I’m not backpedaling from my natural reaction, and it’s up to you to get over it. Or don’t. Doesn’t matter.

Exactly, and my opinion on this isn’t important at all. You’re just making it so.

edit: seriously, “at least he knows he’s racist” isn’t that controversial an observation.

We’d hoped lemmy would be able to have an actual conversation but it seems like a lot of the pedantic “well akshually” terminal-online redditards came along. It’s useless trying to argue with them, they’re incapable of nuance and reality due to a lack of life experience.
