@arstechnica@mastodon.social When I was a little boy, decades ago, I would complain about commercials on television. My parents told me to be grateful for commercials because they paid for the shows I watched, and I wouldn’t have the shows that I watched without them.

Mom and dad, I love you, but I would rather burn everything down and live ad-free. I think that was even the case then.
