Talk about your current fortress - trials, tribulations, successes, and failures. This would also be a great place to post your long fiction of your fortress.

Most recently, my fort, Cobaltshowers, fell to a mistake when placing a giantess in my blood-sport arena. This mistake saw the giant, and swarms of goblins, released while the bridge to my fort was still open.

My militia could not organize in time, and the swarms overtook me. Good times!

I’m a compulsive fort starter. I usually retire them after 4 or 5 years. my latest fort, like all my others, would be well thought out and separated. Each pair of floors would be for an industry and it’s associated stockpiles. It would be beautiful and symmetrical!

Then it turned into my regular style fort, sprawling but with healthy cloth and food industries. My dwarves just want to make sure no one in their world is cold and hungry. We’re subterranean grandmas that worry you’re getting so skinny! Have these roasts and put on a coat, dear.

I’m taking an indefinite break from Blacksand right now, and started a new fortress called “Fireabbey”. It’s perched near the summit of a volcano, far from the homelands. Our mayor/broker dwarf is a fairly easy going guy, and demands mostly goods that we produce on a daily basis anyways.

The basalt walls of our fortress are climbing upwards at an incredible speed, and we have tapped into the throat of the volcano to set up our magma forges. Our industry is starting to feel fairly automated now thanks to the work of our manager and the organization of our resources.

Our dwarfs migrated here in the year 100 to focus on the god of volcanos, and build a temple in their honor. We hope to convert the heathens of our world with our mighty works, and cleanse the unbelievers in the pure magma which the deity causes to flow.
