So this is probably just me being old and stuck in muscle memory, but maybe it’s worth fixing at some point. I use the compact view, so when a picture catches my interest I click it to blow it up. With the image enlarged to cover my screen, and anything not covered by the image filtered to be dark, pressing the back button doesn’t close the image, it immediately exits the feed and keeps the image open. I know I can scroll the picture away, but pressing back is just the first thing my mind does, and then I lose my place and have to go back into the feed and scroll down trying to find my spot. Not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things and my hands will learn the new defaults, but closing the pictures first seems like an easy fix.
Yes, this bugging me too. It’s counterintuitive, we need proper back handling of images.

Seems to be fixed in latest update
Yes! 👏
+1 I get burned by this behavior at least once every time I use wefwef. There’s obviously no real use-case for closing the feed with an image still open so it must just be an oversight. An open image should be functionally equivalent to an open post, with a left swipe just closing it.
Known issue and already work in progress https://github.com/aeharding/wefwef/issues/111
I know I do this all the time by accident and lose my spot where I scrolled 😭
Check for an update :)
I just did, now I have to go find a picture to test it on! You guys are awesome
