Hey there, since Reddit has been a hot mess to post comics, I’m trying it here. This is the first part of my comic series “For Science”. There are many (soo many… holy shit… did I do all of those?!) more. Check them out at https://for-science.net

Oh, and before you start to fear spam, ads, what have you: None of that is active on my site. No ads, just plain comics.

Hi! Nice to see someone posting OC over here and welcome to the community!

A bit off topic, but something I wanted to ask 3D creators some time: how does generative AI influence your art? Do you plan to use it?

hey there! Thank you very much for reaching out :) I love talking about my hobby, yet, most of my viewers aren’t too talkative (comes with the topic I guess…)

Regarding AI: It can be really cool to generate single images, yet it’s terrible at doing exactly what you want, so doing comics with it is a massive and frustrating undertaking of hours and hours of trial and error. So, it’s no good to actually do something more than one or two images.

Where it excels is creating stock-art that would be rather time-consuming to create otherwise but was used for one or two images in a comic, so no one bothered. I mean pictures of scenery or something. Before AI, you told your readers that your comic was set in some deep forest, now you can have an illustration of such a forest in minutes. That’s what I use AI for. You can look at my latest prelude-comics for examples: https://for-science.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Page_002-scaled.jpg
