I hate this argument. It’s not even apples to oranges. It’s cement mixers to fried chicken. The only comparison we should be making is how much power it takes to swipe a card and do a transaction - which is faster and a negligible amount of energy in comparison.
Crypto continues to be a solution in search of a problem. Despite ~15 years of promises and countless dump trucks of rare earth metals/unbelievable amount of power/billions of dollars thrown at it they still haven’t provided a single useful thing that we can’t already do more efficiently. I guess it makes it a little easier to buy drugs or hide your money if you’re a Russian oligarch. So congrats to them.

Yeah the only thing I can see it excelling at is money laundering
