New York Attorney General Letitia James was seen cracking up during former President Donald Trump’s testimony, according to reporters in the courtroom.

“Trump, on NYAG Letitia James: 'She doesn’t even know what 40 Wall Street is,” Klasfeld posted. “NYAG is visibly cackling at the remark for a bit, then puts her head down to compose herself.”

New York Daily News staff reporter Molly Crane-Newman, who was also in the courtroom, noted in a post on X that James’ NYC office is “right next door” to 40 Wall Street.

    …noted in a post on X…

Unrelated, but remember when you could (and still can) just say “tweet?” But because “post” is platform agnostic, you now have to specify where that post is. Great job, Elon. Great job having X parked at twitter.com and encouraging users to switch to saying “post” instead of “tweet.”

You are truly Social Media Brian.

You’re assuming Elon’s goal is to actually run it as a broad social networking platform. What if his goal is to drive all the Liberals away and make it a safe space for racists and fascists? Then it makes more sense.

There’s a reason why conservative “free speech” platforms never work:

        • You need ads in order to pay for your company costs.
        • You need content moderation in order to get ads.
        • Content moderation drives off “free speech” users.
        • Website dies from lack of funds.

Elon could totally float the company, but it’ll be a massive money pit overtime. They are shedding users (over 10% since the takeover) and ad revenue, and once there’s a viable alternative, there will likely be a much larger Exodus, similar to what happened to Myspace users moving to Facebook.

It would have been cheaper to just start his own, maybe under the X brand directly. Instead of killing twitter.

Could be. I don’t know that he has such an aim, except that he runs it on whims which inevitably lead him there anyway, because that’s who he is on the outset.

It probably is his goal, but throwing away the brand recognition of twitter does not make much sense for that either.

Still says twitter.com in the address bar for me so imma keep calling it twitter.

I mean, I’ll still call it twitter even if that changes. The whole rename/rebrand is bull and I refuse to participate in it.

Afaik it only says “x.com” if you share a link from a mobile app. So it only uses that domain where you’re least likely to see it. Top notch work there.
