So apparently now at Costco, you have to have a membership ID that has a photo of you on it and they won’t even let you get in line to pay for your stuff unless you show your Costco card with a photo ID or with a photo on it if you have a Costco card that doesn’t have a photo on it then you have to show them your drivers license and they won’t even let you get in line until you show this. At the other place we don’t have to do this and we don’t have any issues with getting checked for membership through the store.

    Costco membership cards have had photos printed on them for at least a decade. Is it even still possible to get one without the photo? How are people getting Costco cards without photos on them?

    Regardless, I LOATHE carrying around all those stupid store-membership/loyalty cards. Costco started allowing just showing digital membership cards for about the past year…and that also has photo on it.

    I don’t see the problem with them wanting to verify that you’re the actual card holder before you can check out. It’d be different if membership were free, but it’s not, so they aren’t out of line by ensuring you’re the rightful card holder.
