I really wish I would have seen this before Midsomar, because this is basically the original blueprint. I can’t believe how heavily that borrowed from this, even down to the psychedelics. I was fooled into praising its originality.

Would have been great to see this in the theater in '73 when it came out just to see the audience’s reaction. A very twisting and winding road of a film that genuinely surprised me at the end when the mystery finally unfolds.

      Nice. I’ll also throw in that the costumes are very detailed and aged, which made it seem like it was a real town with real traditions.

      That goes for a lot of the chants that the school kids recite also, really well delivered and constructed.

      My friend wasn’t that into wicker man and then after they started telling me about it, I realize they were talking about the Nicolas Cage remake and was so upset that I basically only talked about the 1973 original until they finally watched it(and of course also loved it).
