Just wondering, since I feel like it’s a good conversation starter and could be helpful in bringing other sissies to the site.
For my part, I’m growing increasingly concerned with the direction Reddit is going in. The recent API changes are just part of an ongoing trend. I feel it’s extremely important that we start looking into independent alternatives like Lemmy that can act as a shelter for NSFW communities.
So what’s your story? :)
Personally I don’t like Reddit so much, and sooner or later nsfw content will get the axe on that platform. I also liked a fresh start on a new, much more private board. I’m considering purging my Reddit account and re-upload all my pics here, even willing to donate to upgrade the servers this istance is hosted in
I’m worried about NSFW content getting axed as well. After Tumblr, Pornhub, and Imgur did it, I feel like it’s only a matter of time from some of these other huge social media sites. It’s better if sissies have set up independent websites sooner rather than later
Pls post ur pics here
I am a RIF user and will be using both that and lemmy until reddit shuts RIF down. Just wish the community was bigger here on lemmy. Personally, I hope a new r/toycontrol gains some traction here at lemmy!
Same… counting the final days before RiF bites the dust 😢.
I think there will be another influx here (by here I mean lemmynsfw, not just this sub) when the third party apps die this week, then more when Reddit inevitably kill old.reddit.
It’ll take time but the good news is that there’s clearly the seed of a viable NSFWReddit-like community to rebuild here.
Dislike the enshittifcation of Reddit but like open source
I’m with you on both counts xD
I was an Apollo user with Reddit, but everything Reddit is doing recently has led me to quit giving my traffic to them.
Totally agree!
I’m a big open source person, and even reddit is closed source, I thought it was still nice that FOSS clients like Infinity existed. When reddit made the announcement about API changes and started looking into alternates. I dismissed Lemmy at first because of its tiny user base and lack of NSFW content, but that all changed once the blackout started. After I saw how many people were moving to Lemmy, and that this instance existed, I was fully prepared to switch.
Before I mostly used reddit for tech support, finding through reviews of products, keeping up to date on news, asking and answering questions, and porn. I still plan on using reddit for those first two things, because the sheer amount of content on reddit makes it perfect for those. As for the rest, I’m moving to Lemmy, and planning to contribute more content than I ever did on reddit!
That’s great, very excited to see what content you’ll be posting here! :D
