How the fuck have we gotten to the point where pretty much any group with Liberty, Patriot, Freedom, etc in the name is straight-up fascist?
I mean, we did lean pretty heavily into jingoism, nationalism and anti-intellectualism for, like, the last 70-80y. As a consequence we’ve trained several generations of people to respect symbols more than the ideas that define our country. So uh, yeah, this is pretty much the expected outcome.
