According to https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/lemmy.world
Reached out through Lemmy and Mastodon. No reply from the admin. Last activity from the admin was 2 months ago. Instance is also running an older version of Lemmy.
I assume they are defederating as a precaution, but as the largest instance they have essentially cut us off from a lot of content.
@jonah@lemmy.one are you still around and are you able to reply to them please?
So what is a good instance that is federated to lemmy.world and beehaw and other popular instances? Liked lemmy.one since it was connected to instances that were defederated from each other.
Lemdro.id remains federated with them. Otherwise, you can check an instance’s federation/defederation list via instance.url/instances.
this doesn’t exist; is there a typo somewhere?
I’m not sure of the equivalent for kbin, that path only works on lemmy instances AFAIK
The federated/defederated instance list isn’t implemented in the production version of kbin iirc.
Replace instance.url with the Lemmy instance in question e.g., lemdro.id/instances)

Hi, I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Sopuli. Does it also disable downvotes? That’s one thing I really like for my own sanity.

It’s ok, thanks for responding. I’ll keep looking!
lemmy.sdf.org
EDIT: https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/lemmy.sdf.org
Seems like it’s often quite flakey, for instance I can’t access it at the moment
Yes, true. they might be in the middle of updating the server of something. Usually it should be okay. That’s my main instance by the way.
Anyway why do I suggest it? SDF has a long history of maintaining public access Unix usenet/bbs server, since the 80’s. So they have a long track record of maintaining public server. For them to simply abandoning server hosted by them would be unheard of.
They also have diverge userbase, liberal and geeky. I simply can’t imagine any lemmy instance will defederate from them. That will be brazen, simply say.
