The amount of apps being developed for iOS / Android is getting really crazy now and new apps keep popping up every day. Updated list below:

  • Artemis (iOS, Android, kbin, lemmy): link
  • Memmy (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Mlem (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Morpha (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Thunder (iOS, Android, lemmy): link
  • Beyond (iOS, Android, kbin, lemmy): link
  • Limbo (iOS, Android, lemmy): link
  • Jerboa (Android, lemmy): link
  • Slide (Android, lemmy): link
  • Sync (Android, lemmy): link
  • Unnamed (kbin): link
  • Connect (Android, lemmy): link
  • Summit (Android, lemmy): link
  • Lemmynade (Android, lemmy): link
  • WefWef (Web App, lemmy): link

Most apps on the list are lemmy apps, meaning they don’t work with kbin. Artemis is specifically designed to work with kbin, not sure if or when any of the other ones will go in that direction or become interoperable as there are some challenges with the kbin API at the moment. Having said that, a new API is in the works (https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/pulls/357) so things should get better with time. Some of the apps are in very early stage of development so it may happen that they adjust OS availability and platform support.

Just want to give Memmy a shoutout! Those on iOS should highly consider testing the app. It has a lot of features already implemented in it and the team is releasing quality updates daily.

Using the app right now. Love getting daily updates and seeing the thing built in real time.

They plan on submitting to the App Store 6/27. So if you can’t get in the Beta, you don’t have to wait long - pending on how fast Apple can review it.

Also using Memmy, and it is great for such an early product. Works quite well on both iPad and iOS where I’ve been testing it out.

Thanks for compiling this list. Currently testing Limbo and Memmy, and both are looking good.

Thunder is also FOSS. I was thinking of contributing since it is made with Flutter and I work as a Flutter developer.

I’ve never contributed before but I feel like this whole Reddit/Lemmy switch is a great opportunity to give back to the FOSS community for all the awesome apps I’ve used these last few years!

👀👀Hey there, developer of Thunder here. It would be great if you could contribute towards the project! I’m still very much learning about Flutter/Dart and I’m sure there’s a whole bunch of things that could be improved!

I’m not as savvy with the technical… How do you even make an app without API? I thought it’s the thing that connects the stuff?

It’s not pretty, but you can simply download the web pages and parse the HTML instead (this is called scraping).
The main downside is that it breaks easily for even smaller changes in the HTML, so if kbin is updated, the apps may need an update to start working fully again.

Has anyone heard anything about BaconReader going Lemmy? I’ve used that since I discovered Reddit and was hoping I could carry on with it on Lemmy…

It does that some times for me. I think it’s just growing pains and how quickly so many people are switching over. I have zero doubt that as time goes on the majority of the issues will be taken care of and things will get smoother.
