It’s crazy that you haven’t gotten tired of the gameplay before reaching 800 hours, if I don’t like how a game plays I usually drop it after not even 10 hours. Or at worst after reaching max level.
don’t get me wrong the gameplay of ff14 is great, especially the slower, more focuesd combat system. I was getting tired of those stretched out story sequences and text passages where you really listened to npc after npc without any real gameplay in between besides some traveling from a to b and then rinse and repeat.
If I compare this now to my other favourite mmo Guild Wars 2, its night and day. In Guild Wars 2 you play the actual game, sure there are story beats here and there where you watch and listen, but the rest is pure gameplay, interaction with other players and exploring a well crafted world that does not feel artificial like it did in ff14.
