I’m happy to finally be staying at a place with some options for a nice sunset view! I’m starting to experiment with HDR now that I have a tripod as well. I felt that really helped me bring out the details in the highlights while preserving the nice colors from the night side of things.

Still not sure on the best bracketing to try but I’ve been liking the look of 0.3 increments in groups of 9. I want to try that with some focus stacking as well at some point…but I think the clouds would have to be pretty still for that!

I really, really love it. I spent a few months on a gifted Canon Rebel T6 before I committed to the hobby and they are absolutely worlds apart. Besides the image quality and the ability to shoot great video (already done a few family trip videos), the eye auto focus is almost flawless. In the limited time to set up for certain shots that are happening it’s a dream to not have to worry much about that. Lets me focus on just the right aperture and other settings.

For shooting quickly I would recommend to shoot with the aperture closed down, even look into zone focusing. 99% of the time I shoot at f/11 or f/8, focused at around 2.3 meters.

That sounds really nice. I’ve watched countless videos about that camera (plus most of my favorite photographers are using), so it’s extremly tempting to pull the trigger. Maybe a christmas present lol
