Quite some time ago I remember reading an excerpt of a journal written by either Columbus or one of his shipmates about the people they encountered in NA. He wrote how trusting and easy going they were, how that could be used against them, bend them to his will, enslave them, etc. It really was horrible reading how he viewed the natives as subhuman.

“I’m only asking because, you know, my wife is crazy about this stuff, history i mean. I don’t really give a damn being a white man. You know how it is, she can go on and on about human rights and … what’s that? Oh yes I’m sure a person of your stature would not be involved in something as slimy as genocide. 🛎️ Oh just one more thing, i noticed you have this bow and arrow in your log cabin, fine piece of craftsmanship if i may say so myself, where did you get it again?”

    Etc

Maybe tag GianniMatragrano nicely enough and he’ll make a short clip about it :)

whoa, whoa, slow down and respect the process. First, my family has to catch their diseases and mostly die off; they can then move into the basement. Eventually the housing squabbles will lead to them evicting my grandchildren by force to make room for their extended family.
