@Dave@lemmy.nz I guess you are aware, otherwise good to have a read about Lemmy 0.18.0 and the new Jerboa version.

Thanks! I had been following but until now hadn’t seen a release date. I’ve been testing a few of the release candidates.
It’s a little concerning the captcha pull request hasn’t been merged. I’m assuming 0.18 still doesn’t have a sign up captcha. We may need to enable either sign up applications or email verification otherwise we will have a bot problem (we’ve already seen this to some extent).
Can you add a cloudflare captcha on /signup as a temporary solution?
I’m not sure. We can’t enable general bot protection, because the server to server communication between instances needs to not have captchas.
I can try to see if we can apply a captcha just for accessing the sign up page, but I’m not aware of this functionality. I’ll have a look when I get a chance.
