    I’m omega and I design over engineered, hyper realistic, fantasy planets as a hobby, simulating 300 million years of a planets past because I just can’t get enough of it.

    Hecking same. “I play videogames” or “I like to read.” Two anecdotes, locked an loaded. I hate being caught off guard, and being mocked for it hurt. I learned so many funny habits out of pain

      I hate these because its impossible to remember people unless they had some super cool thing. my usual go to is “I’m Nora and I can scuba dive.” which is cool and fine, but I could talk about that, and its so much more interesting and useful to find what people enjoy about their things.

      as an example, you said you like reading! I enjoy a good book too! what are some of your favorite books and genres? do you have a Lemmy community you go to for book stuff? Tell me about a book you hate!

      theres so many questions people could ask, but never do, so everyone becomes horribly forgettable.
