While it’s legally true, it’s not ethically acceptable in many important mutual aid agreements. I find that once I spend enough time in a community, I owe a lot of people for a lot of good they have done me. I didn’t previously have strong awareness of this, and my lack of awareness limited my career progress and community reputation. Edit: I find that someone posted it to LinkedIn is particularly funny, since LinkedIn is all about posturing for a mostly imaginary community.
