And what were the dumber lead-ups?
zero
zero instances
and zero communities
srsly it’s not hard just don’t be a jerk
This right here.
ml would like a word.
srsly it’s not hard just don’t be a jerk
You say that yet I am banned from some dubvee communities that I have no memory interacting with.
srsly it’s not hard just don’t be a jerk
sometimes theres good reasons for bans but people get banned all the time for what should be considered normal stuff
take a look at !meanwhileongrad@sh.itjust.works and there’s a long list of bans compiled here
I have been banned (I use the word loosely because the person I’m about to mention makes a good point that they are not actual bans in a true sense, long story) from a few places just because people thought I was the alt of a former mod who people grew to dislike because she wasn’t allowing Luigi-related content in her community. Alright, so far not a jerk.
Then she got banned from Lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works because she mentioned wanting to treat the Elon Musk issue like the Luigi issue so as to not provide a double standard (the modlog reason for these is listed as “nazi apologist”), from Blahaj.zone because someone took the previous thing personally and dug up old jerk interactions from years ago (as in, they were a jerk at that time two years ago but not post-Lemmy-registration), from Lemmy.ca and feddit.uk because she has supposedly a KiwiFarms account that she supposedly registered for naively (while supposedly maintaining she won’t use for anything malevolent, and even then the evidence it’s even her is shotty), from solarpunk because people bashing on her triggered the solarpunk AI (because moderation there is performed by AI), and from several individual communities for her autism.
And then they circled back to me for some of these in order to, again, claim I’m her.
If being banned for non-jerk reasons is the exception and not the rule, then, by definition, there’s some conspiracy going on.
Got banned from a few linked keto communities or something like that because I downvoted several things. Ban was for doing so systematically. I didn’t realize it for months, but was eventually made aware of it. They were correct in that those communities were not for me as per the modlog, so I blocked the communities and I think we’re both better off not crossing paths.
.ml
because lol
all the tankie mods are probably downvoting this lol
to answer the question: a single community on .ml banned me because I mentioned something ‘anti-china’ (and another commmuny moded by a tankie) and now I just stay off that instance for the most part
One, but afaik it doesn’t exist any more
Had a random disagreement with the admin on another instance, and he started throwing the ban hammer.
Hell, it wasn’t a disagreement. I just wasn’t saying things the way he wanted them said.
I wonder if the random letters “shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee” might have anything to do with this question?
Why does she in particular come to mind on a general question? She was simply a passing thought when I asked it.
Briefly from db.zer0 and lemmy.world, but it was a false-positive automod ban and both have been reversed.
I think my previous account got banned from lemmygrad.
I blocked the instance hilariouschaos for being a conservative cesspool and that’s the closest I’ve come to an instance ban. Just don’t be a jerk, it’s not hard.
its not always about not being a jerk (although sometimes it is). I used the word ‘tankie’ once and now I’m banned from c/latestagecapitalsm because the mod is a Stalin loving authoritarian-communist

Its actually so annoying to feel like you have to check what instance it belongs to and who moderates a community before saying stuff, like if I were to say something about china committing genocide on a .ml community I’d get banned from there
On Reddit?
All of them, for being overly critical of Musk, Trump, and capitalism in general.
Here? None.
But I recently has a comment removed for breaking a rule on a forum.
