Android requires I have a dozen beta testers before I’m allowed to push my app, Blorp, out to the store. My app is FOSS, has matching web, iOS, and MacOS versions with more to launch (e.g. Linux). My goal is to ship one unified Lemmy experience for all Platforms.
I’m really hoping to launch Android in the next few weeks, but I need a few more testers. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, DM me with the email associated with your Android account. Google requires I add people by email to complete the required closed testing.
Hope this is ok to post here. Genuinely I want to deliver the best Android experience possible.

Hey, the web version looks really sleek. Feels close to what I’d like Voyager to look like, which is great.
I’d like to help, but can I send the email to you on Matrix? Another firstname.lastname case for the G account.
Blorp, cousin of Floorp
I’d be willing, though I’m still on Android 12, and am not a terribly heavy user. Do you have any specific requirements you’re targeting? What kind of bug reports/tickets were you wanting to generate, if any?
Edit: ah, I see in another thread it’s probably “lemmy-only”, which counts me out. Bummer.
Anything you’re willing to submit. Just say what you like and what you don’t like.
Out of curiositity what other backends were you hoping it supported? PieFed or Mbin?
I have actually never tried Mbin, but I was talking to the PieFed devs the other day. PieFed API isn’t even stable yet, and they emphasized that they want the flexibility to implement features independent of Lemmy. For that reason, I see their API as a moving target that will slowly drift away from Lemmy. They are differnt projects with different goals. I think I can ship a better product if I focus on doing one platform really well.
If you were talking about Mbin, I would be happy to do more reserach to determine if it’s a similar situation or not.Indeed, I’m on Mbin, and I should’ve specified. I can definitely do textual feedback (matrix), I was just thinking GitHub or some other ticketing system was involved. (I can use them, too, not a big deal, I just don’t have a lot of energy, so. I try to use it constructively where I can. :)
PieFed API explosions: yiiiikes, that sounds really unfun for the time being!
GitHub, Matric, DM honestly whatever is easiest for you. I’m happy to turn your messages into formal tickets. I really appreciate you taking the time to try my app!
I would DM you, but all DMS are public and my public name is on my email.
Totally, I respect your desire for privacy. Hoping to have Blorp on the Play Store soon and be done with this nonsense. They should also unlock open testing soon which means I won’t need to ask people for emails.
