Over close to 30 hours I have only had 2 crashes and no freezes. Is the curse broken?

I dunno, Fallout 4 on console for me was a mess. It would crash moments within going into the inner parts of Boston. So like, a good chunk of the map was off limits.
Same here. Apart from Skyrim PS3, the console version of their previous titles were pretty much crash-free
I played the game on PC for 8 hours, at least 5 crashes already. Additionally, it runs poorly with low FPS even at low settings. The game does not look nice, it has loading screens everywhere. I am very disappointed with the game. I am unfortunately already to far in to get a refund. I’ll probably wait a couple of years to start playing for real.

Playing on 1440p res, PC config: 1080 TI with 11 GB VRAM + Intel i7 8700 + 32 GB + everything on SSD Not the newest of hardware, but still powerful enough to play basically anything I throw at it.
You’re sitting g just around the minimum requirements for the game. You might want to try installing some performance mods, there’s some available already in the nexus I think, but there will be more coming soon
Yeah, I guess that may be the case. Actually, it feels as if the CPU is holding things back, since the FPS difference between low/med/high is just a couple of frames (all between 28-40)

I updated to the latest version, with Starfield optimizations. Using DDU and clean install (as I usually do with a new driver). But I guess I have to face the fact that an update to my hardware is unavoidable in the near future…
I have not played a lot of Bethesda games. Are you really considering 2 crashes in 30 hours a positive? I would expect the nominal number of crashes to be 0.
Maybe it’s just that I play mostly indie games, so my standards are higher. I guess AAA studios just don’t have the resources to make working games like the little guys.
If you had more experience with BGS games you’d know that 2 crashes in 30 hours is heavenly
Bethesda games tend to be a bit buggy on release day. It’s not even technically released yet, so this is pretty great. You’ve got to realize there’s a difference in scale between Bethesda games and the indie games to which you refer and that difference is orders of magnitude. This game is massive.
Personally I’ve not experienced a single crash, and that’s kinda surprising.
It’s even quite playable on my 1660 Super which is below the required GPU. I can get above 60 in a lot of places, but the more dense areas are 25-30, though dips to 25 are rare. Might even manage to get it more stable if it still uses the same old INI parameters as Fallout 4 and Skyrim, but I’ve just been playing the game instead of messing with the files. No crashes either, in 11 hours total game time.
Nexusmods already have a bunch of performance ini tweaks. Its very much like fo4 and Skyrim. Same cheat codes too in console
The rapid release of mod fixes says everything doesn’t it… Same game so same issues
Same engine mostly
How is that possible when my 2070 Super Max Q can’t even maintain 40fps on 1080P FSR?
Isn’t that a mobile card? Perhaps it’s the rest of your laptop specs.
I’ve got 1day 12 hours on my save. Had 1 crash. I blame myself for it as i have another game running in the background (minecraft + a server) a nvr app running and edge and plex. Using a little over 60gb of ram and maxing out the vram on my 6950xt gpu.
Im on proton with amd cpu and 6700xt. Once i updated my mesa drivers I have had 0 issues or crashes. Running on high with fsr at 60%. Before I updated mesa i couldnt go 5 min without a crash at the mine where the digger broke through the wall it crashed every single time.
no crashes for me about same playtime, had a couple of freezes though. runs quite well, only minor bugs so far nothing game breaking
I had one repeating crash in the kreet lab. Realized I didn’t update my drivers. Updated and no crash since so far. Only a few hours in though.
I had minimal issues up until recently. The game now crashes after a black loading screen every time I try to enter “The Rock” in Akila
