    I’m 29 so still pretty young. I think if I had waited another decade I might have had to start slower. It sounds like you’ve been a lot more athletic than I have overall though so I would think you could get back into it.

    If you want to start running again I would say start with 100% zone 2 runs until you hit the mileage you want. This builds a strong aerobic base for your overall fitness and lowers your risk of injury while you build up the mileage. It’s going to be be very slow walk/running at first but it pays off and you will get faster. Also think about a pair of flexible zero drop shoes like Altras or Barefoot/minimalist shoes. I use a cheap pair of whitins from amazon. This will strengthen your feet and ankles and give you a more natural gait further decreasing injury risk.

    Turns out the big cushy shoes are terrible for you because they cause most people to run on their heels which puts all the impact into your joints.
