the official WWE story is that AAA will not change at all, they love lucha libre as it is, and they’re simply going to give it a bigger platform. It was hard to believe WWE’s sincerity in that story, but it was the right thing to say to avoid raising concern among the fanbase. Latin and Konnan are not used to having to stick with AAA’s message. The AAA structure gave them a lot of freedom to say whatever they wanted on their platforms, and WWE does not allow that freedom. Konnan’s YouTube video was made private a few hours later, suggesting he had learned a lesson about the new world we’re all living in.
