Hey everyone, I’ve been a long time photographer on a hiatus. Ever since learning about the existence of EQ mounts I have been excited to get back into photography and try the astro side of it.

I have a 300mm f/2.8 lens for my DSLR and am wondering if that focal length is any good. Thanks!

300mm is good, though you may want to be careful what mount you pair it with.

I use 200mm and am using a star adventurer 2i. I’ve heard others say this is near the limit for that platform.

Perfect! Local astronomy clubs are definitely an amazing resource. I’m relatively new to the hobby so would definitely go by their experience.

Happy shooting and don’t forget to share!
