    After hearing the Behind the Bastards episode on this guy, he just seems like a self-aggrandizing blowhard. Why is this brand of narcissism so appealing to certain segments of society?

      Confidence and self-esteem (as misplaced as they may be) are attractive to those who lack those qualities. Anyone with a shred of their own self-esteem or confidence can see right through him. Unfortunately, there are plenty of vulnerable, disenfranchised, or mentally ill people out there ready to be taken advantage of. Hopefully his days in the spotlight are numbered.

      They’re racists, ableists and misogynists. Everything else they scream about is a cover for those types of things.

      There’s a shortage of positive cis white male role models. Some kids need that and they latch onto whoever is the loudest.

      That’s a perfect description. I said narcissist but yours is much better.

      I’m also puzzled why his self aggrandizing rants are so popular. There’s nothing intelligent in it.
