Until then, this is a great moment to advertise: It is very, laughably easy to download PeerTube videos as long as the uploader has allowed for it.
¹EDIT: But just for the record, I think there is cause to argue public interest and educational/journalistic use of this trumping copyright.
True, but there is one more degree of separation with yt-dlp or similar scripts. Here, it is literally part of the normal web interface, without any demands for external services or paid premium stuff.
