I mean it’s just a painful reality that if you don’t have a nuke you’re at the mercy of stronger Nations. That other nations will with impunity abuse you. No one will protect you. Every country should try to make nukes. That’s a fucking terrifying Prospect but it’s still true from a geopolitical standpoint.
Yeah, non-proliferation was backed by US security guarantees. Something successive presidents on both sides didn’t mess with.
