I ve been banned from so many social media sites for being critical of capital or defending Luigi that I really appreciate that Lemmy actually cares about free speech
Oh don’t be fooled. Lemmy doesn’t care about it at all either. If you say the right things they will ban you without a second thought. They just happen to be ok with those things here.

Lemmy is a piece of software. Who “cares” or doesn’t is dependant on the people administrating instances you use or communicate with.
Decentralization. Don’t think there’s a place for your speech? Run your own server.
Or just change instances. They can’t really stop you from doing that.
