As the title says, when choosing an image from gallery source, I can browser but then when I select an image it shows the preview, cancel, edit and upload options, when I hit upload it says “could not upload image”

Lots of instances are temporarily halting image uploads due to csam attacks against Lemmy. I’m not sure if this is what’s happening in your case, but it may be something to check on

Just had this happen to me. It was an image I had uploaded before. Didn’t think anything of it.
Oh, yeah, that’s right. I read that Lemmy.World has turned off pics temporarily, due to the CSAM thing going on with one of their communities:

I had an issue like this a while ago, but it ended up being a size limit thing with my instance - can you try uploading something smaller? If it doesn’t work with something smaller, you know it’s not that. Just a thought. It could def be the app, but this is an easy way for more info.

I just tried a 0.1MB 200x200 pixel picture and still error.
I didn’t read about the CSAM thing until after my reply, my bad.
