Some of the hostility I’ve read about from Linux kernel devs over Rust is kind of insane. I can definitely understand wanting to pull back on working in that space because of that alone. Tack on kiwifarms (if you don’t know them, just read the wikipedia article on them, they’re awful by basically every definition of the word) and yeah, this makes sense.
They’ve met hostility both from the Linux kernel side regarding rust and have been the target of the extremist site kiwifarms
