      There’s no real link with French. She’s just calling him a sweet boy in proper english I guess.

      I looked it up and she’s probably trying to say “gentil garçon” which according to wiktionary would actually mean nice, thoughtful, charming, or lovely.

        As a native french speaker, that sounds so weird!

        It’s like saying “good girl” or something, definitely not something you hear much in the younger generation.
