I think you are overthinking it. They don’t even have climate change in their considerations, they are solely focused on the short term profits corporations can make from dismantling government regulations. That is how corporate cleptocracy works.
They think/know they’ll be rich enough to avoid the negative problems climate change will present, or they’ll be dead before it happens. They’re writing checks that the rest us will have to cash and laughing at us as we cheer for them to do so.
