Honorable Mentions:
- Inertial dampeners fail in both
- DM calls it “FTL drive” but it’s warp drive in all but name
- Subspace communications
- Both have mirror universes
- Discovery’s experimental spore drive is Dark Matter’s experimental “Blink” drive in all but name
Edit: Had one I meant to include but forgot: Killer Barrels
Bonus: Has Detmer and Sam Kirk too.
“Wil Wheaton”
I scared the dog laughing.
That got me too
I welcome any future Dark Matter memes in my Trek shitposting community thank you very much. 🤞
And who’s the murderous android? Don’t remember her.
She’s the, uh, pleasure model they find in storage and re-assemble (very much like how Lore was found).
Spoiler
One of their enemies programmed her to go homicidal after she was…utilized.
That’s wild I do NOT remember that all. 💀
She’s also in one of the John Wick movies.
Solid show, did enjoy.
The androids of both shows feel the most human chars of the lot (to me personally).
I loved that show, it had a great universe, and would’ve been awesome if it hadn’t got cancelled.
Yes, I support the addition of Dork Matter and Killjoys references to our database.
Is that officer Chen?
It is indeed
I thought you meant the recent ‘Dark Matter’ on AppleTV and got really confused for a minute. Although apparently they share an actor.
I just came to say the same thing. I have not seen this show from 2015, but did watch the Apple show recently. I was very confused!
For a second, I got excited that the Apple Dark Matter actually was a continuation of this one.
This looks cool. Is it just one season?
There’s 3, but it ended on a cliffhanger right as a bunch of plot points from each season were converging into a bigger threat. 😠
I’ll still check this show out. The girl who is an enhanced person is in “The Rookie” and I like her character.
I enjoyed the first season so much I bought it, but don’t remember much about the other two.
Thanks! I was a little confused because Wikipedia just has one season listed.
I searched for it uhh… somewhere and noticed that there are two different shows called “Dark Matter” that was kind of confusing. The one that is referenced here did not show up on google or the Wikipedia page when I did a casual search.
Book is the source material, though haven’t read it yet.
