Nor do they all benefit from the same government controls. That’s why each rich personhas their own preferences.

But all rich people prefer the government they can own, and oppose the government that seeks to prevent them from taking advantage of everyone else.

I’m just saying that not all rich people are as cynical as you are. Your political beliefs are not defined by your social position.

Yes they all are. You don’t get to be rich without cynically exploiting people. Nobody deserves a billion dollars.

I would say the cynical people are the minority - most rich people do not believe they are doing anything wrong, and do believe that capitalists deserve what they have. Out of rich people, the ones that have a billion dollars are a minority, but I reckon that applies to them as well.

This is “bourgeois morality”, it is quite popular, and I should say a lot of people do not agree that rich people do not deserve their money.

Rich people are also the minority. You’re not wrong that the capitalist does not see anything wrong with their value proposition, but there is no profit without loss. Economics is always a zero sum game, when time is factored in. Anyone amassing wealth is taking value from the lives of others, without exception. The capitalist is someone who uses their existing wealth to leverage unequal value from business transactions. That’s just how it works, and it doesn’t work any other way.

Most people are cool with it, because they think someday they might be on the handle side of the lemon press instead of inside the basket. Almost everyone is wrong about that.
