Remember when a young woman who was a contractor for Halliburton in the Iraq War and was gang-raped and locked in a container in Iraq and threatened to keep her mouth shut?
Remember when she took them to court and was told that because she signed an arbitration agreement she had to go through Halliburton’s arbitration court?
The reason I’m bringing this up is to point out that this rot has been going on for a long time and I’m sick of people acting like it started with Trump.
Haliburton walked so trump could run.
Hyping Cheney’s endorsement of Kamala Harris was legit fucking stupid.
“Hey, this un-prosecuted war criminal who helped set the stage for Trump supports Harris so that makes me want to vote for her,” said literally no one ever.
I think the idea was having people go “If even HE doesn’t support Trump, it must be real bad indeed”. But it was completely tone-deaf in either case.
As much as Harris claimed to like Venn diagrams, she didn’t seem to understand that “people who value Dick Cheney’s opinion” is a very small circle that doesn’t overlap at all with the “people who might consider voting for Kamala Harris” circle.
She said she was honored to have the endorsement of well respected leaders like Liz and Dick (archived). If she genuinely recognized they were awful people she did a terrible job of communicating it.
